The Pymmes BrookERS (short for ‘Pymmes and Salmons Brook RestorERS’) is a volunteer-run River Action Group that looks after the Pymmes and Salmons Brooks in north London.
We want to see long-term improvements to our rivers so that they are cleaner and more natural, able to support more wildlife, and more able to deal with the impacts of climate change like flooding and drought. We want to see our local rivers cleaner and more beautiful for us all to use safely and enjoy.
We do this by taking practical action. We
- Organise river clean-ups and invasive species removal
- Monitor river health and collect data to push for change
- Advocate for river restorations
- Plan and push for better access to our rivers such as walking trails
- Campaign against actions, decisions and behaviours that damage our rivers
- Run volunteering activities, walk-and-talks, meetings and socials
- Check out our short film and our audio-walk!
- Work with our communities, community groups, local authorities, water companies, environmental NGOs and agencies such as the Environment Agency, to achieve these aims.
Come and join us and get your wellies on! We are taking real and practical action to tackle the climate emergency in our neighbourhoods, and above all, it’s FUN! We are a friendly and inclusive group and we would love to hear from you! Use the contact form here to get in touch!
